BET Music Matters is a launching platform for upcoming artists. Launched in 2010, the multi platform initiative identifies and exposes new ground breaking artists and music across BET and Centric properties as well as through national tours and monthly showcases. The platform has help launch the careers of some of todays hottest talent including J. Cole, Miguel, Elle Varner, Marsha Ambrosius and Kendrick Lamar.
THE PLAYMAKER GROUP worked with the team at BET to develop a UK version – focused on showcasing some of the UK’s most exciting names. From that point, we worked to find a UK partner to host the event and were involved in everything from programming, event production and marketing and PR. Performers included Little Simz, Raheem Bakare, Mic Lowry and Terri Walker. The final event was filmed an broadcast to an audience of over 90 million globally.
