Aimed at artists, bands and producers between the ages 16-25 from across Merseyside, the LIMF Academy gives new music creators exclusive access to activities and insider know-how from the music industry. The award winning initiative was conceptualised by THE PLAYMAKER GROUP’s Yaw Owusu, who continues to drive it to this day.
The LIMF Academy offers performance opportunities at Liverpool International Music Festival and other regular showcases, access to an exclusive masterclass day featuring panels of top industry experts, career/project funding and marketing and PR support. For three of the most exceptional young artists, bands or/and producers the Academy also offers a 12 month Elite Talent Development Programme, which includes financial investment, marketing asset creation, monthly masterclasses, year round mentoring and industry showcases and networking events.
The Academy has been fortunate to play a central role in the ascent of emerging talent from the city gaining recording, publishing and/or management deals.
The LIMF Academy works closely with the likes of PRS For Music Foundation, Help Musician’s, BBC Introducing, Ditto Music, Musician’s Union, BBC Radio 1Xtra and Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Company.
